ocean of time

1. The Paradox (part I)

Instrumental

2. Time & Space (part II)

Standing at the crossroads of destiny
I contemplate the sea of possibilities
If every grain of sand holds the universe
Every choice I make leads to a different world

Chorus:
Sailing on the ocean of time
I’ve lost myself in the changing tides
Sailing on the ocean of time
To a place where the past and future collide

I may have lived a hundred thousand lives
And died before I was even born
With gravity as my guide
I keep diving into the great unknown

( Chorus )

Sailing through space and time
Sending signals to the other side
Sailing through time and space
Trying to solve the puzzle of my fate

Time slows down
Reality bends
Seconds become centuries
As I forget another dream

3. The Mirror Maze (part III)

Traveling through time
Faster than the speed of light
I can’t find my way home
In the future nor the past.
The present seems to hide
Between frames that subdivide
I got to make it home
Got to find some peace at last
I got to face the storm
Got to break the hourglass.

Chorus:
In the mirror maze,
Chasing shadows and reflections.
In the mirror maze,
Between dreams and illusions.
In the mirror maze,
Chasing ghosts and inner demons.
In the mirror maze,
Reality’s stranger than fiction.

I’ve been trapped for so long
In this hellish glass prison
How I wish I could escape
Before it’s too late
Don’t know where I belong
Don’t know what is right or wrong
But I got break the chains
That bind me to this maze.
I got to free my mind
From the things I leave behind

( Chorus )

Black holes are found where memories fade.
Hiding the key to the puzzle in my mind.
Life after life, the soul remains the same.
A boat adrift on the waves of time.

Got to get out of this maze
Got to find my way home
Got to know that I’m awake
Got to find my way home
Got to know if I’m still dreaming
On my way back home
Got to get out of this maze
Got to find my way home

4. From the Ashes

We’ve gone through hell shed blood and tears
And been cursed for all these years

We’ve been betrayed by Gods and Kings
Now, we’re the last men standing
Without hope, without faith
We need something to kill the pain
We need to heal

Pre-chorus: We’ve had enough
This isn’t how it ends for us
The time has come
To find a place where we belong

Chorus:
From the ashes of the world
We will rise through the flames
Like a phoenix reborn
Out of suffering
In this era of despair
We shall learn from our mistakes
And fly as high as we can
Before we fall again

If tomorrow brings the end of the world
The best in us would still be at stake

Our memories and forgotten tales
Are trapped inside a mirror maze
Without hope, without faith
We need something to break our chains
We need to change

( Pre-chorus & Chorus )

Searching for a new world
Searching for a new man
Searching for a new sun
Searching for a new paradigm

Now we know it
This isn’t how it ends for us
The time has come
To find a place where we belong

Chorus 2:
From the ashes of the world
We will rise through the flames
Like a phoenix reborn
Out of suffering
From the ashes of the world
We will rise through the flames
And fly as high as we can
Before we fall again

5. Settle the Score

Yeah you tell me I’d turn the other cheek
And show that the other side isn’t weak
While I sigh why must I accept this fate?
This burning deep within, it just won’t wait

It’s bursting out now yeah it’s getting loose
I try holding back but it’s just no use
You ask me why I can’t let go
Oh but you, you already know

Chorus:
Settle the score, it’s all out on the floor
Settle the score, no I just can’t ignore
Settle the score, I’m begging for more
Settle the score, I’m ready for war

When you cross me I might turn away
Take another breath and try to stay
The animal inside that wants to fight
Wants to tear and scratch and claw and bite

When everything I see is turning red
I’d watch your step, I’d watch the ground you tred
Just go ahead and take a shot my friend
And I’ll show you how this ends

( Chorus )

Chorus 2:
Settle the score, I’m begging for more
I’ll lay you to waste, it’s black and white there’s no gray
Settle the score, I’m ready for war
There’s hell to pay, and it’s coming your way

6. Mr. Bluesman

Verse 1:
Hey! Mr. Bluesman
Before you left the stage
Did you sing the song
You were truly meant to sing?
Your guitar tuned to your heart
You sure knew how to bend a string
I hope you sang the song
You were truly meant to sing

Hey! Mr. Bluesman
God knows how I miss you
My heart is still crying
And looking for you
Now, you’re gone
And the show must go on
I need the strength to carry on
Like the shiny golden sun

But gigs are not the same
Without you by my side
You left a burning flame
Everywhere you played and every night
They say heaven’s on fire
Since you’ve been there
I bet you’ve already met Hendrix
And shared some tasty licks

A new stage awaits you
The show’s about to begin
I can see you rocking the house
Can’t you hear the crowd cheering?
I can see you raising hell in heaven
Can’t you hear me cheering?
I’m cheering for you, I’m cheering for you

( Verse 1 )

Hey! Mr. Bluesman
Goodbye my old friend
Hey! Mr. Bluesman
Goodbye my old friend
Hey! Mr. Bluesman
Someday, we’ll meet again
Hey! Mr. Bluesman, Mr. Bluesman

7. Blues Traveler

From California to Louisiana
My buddy Sunny right beside me
With the wind guiding our way
Out here, we’re wild and free

The sky is clear, the road is open
Let’s put the pedal to the floor
I turn up the radio
Nothing can stop us now

Can you hear it
The call of the blues traveler?
Can you feel it
The freedom of the blues traveler?

From El Paso to San Antonio
Troubles vanish in the rearview mirror
Burning rubber on the blacktop
We’re riding with the blues
Can you feel it
The freedom of the blues traveler?

We finally hit New Orleans with the song
The song of the blues traveler
The song of the blues traveler, Blues traveler

8. Dear Johnnie (Walker)

I work like a dog
My body’s covered in sweat
8 days a week
And I feel like a wreck
Feels like I'm wasting my time
Feels like I’m dying inside
‘til I get the one thing that's on my mind

Pre-chorus:
Johnnie my friend
Let's meet again

Chorus:
Hey now
Dear Johnnie my friend
Got a double and a shot
And the next round’s coming
You’re a gift from the gods
Let's hit the bar
And have some fun
Johnnie, you're the only one
That makes me feel alive

When the clock strikes five
And the day is done
For Johnnie and me, the party’s just begun
We punch out our time cards
Then go straight to the bar
And raise hell ‘til the morning comes

( Pre-chorus & Chorus )

Johnnie my friend
My dear old friend, until the end

And as the night goes on
We drown our sorrows
In the bottom of a bottle and go wild
Watch the girls dancing
Kicking back as we imbibe

( Chorus X2 )

Johnnie my friend
My dear old friend
Johnnie my friend
Until the end

9. The Fight

All the things in my head
Set me on this path again
Alone with myself
Alone against the world outside
I dwell on the past
And the questions I still ask myself
All the pain inside

It’s the same old shit now
It’s the same old story
The fucking fear of failure
That keeps haunting me
The noose is tightening
And the walls I built are closing in
All around me

Pre-chorus:
Got to wake up, wake up and realize
It’s time to fight

Chorus:
The gloves are off
Between me and my mind again
The fight is rough
But I won’t let my inner struggles win

It’s like an endless loop
A strange déjà vu
Racing thoughts and feelings
That keep repeating
It’s like Groundhog Day
And nothing ever goes my way
Now, I’m so pissed off

( Pre-chorus & Chorus )

Hands up, head high
I’ve got fire in my eyes
I’m ready for war
And I’m ready for more
Hands up, head high
No mercy, no compromise
Confusion and doubt
Will be knocked out

X4:
Nothing but victory in sight
Nothing can stop me now

10. Digging My Own Grave

I despise myself
For letting fear follow me everywhere
My life is but a mess
A world of shadows drowning in despair

It grows just like an infection
This loathing festering in my soul

Staring at my own reflection
I fall into a black hole

Chorus:
Can’t explain this feeling
It’s like I’ve lost my sense of meaning
I just don’t know
Where to go
Come what may, I can’t keep spending my days
Digging my own grave

I feel the darkness around me
The void that binds me to the night
Living like a vampire
Always afraid to face the light

Chorus 2:
Can’t explain this reaction
It’s like I can’t feel my emotions
I can’t get no satisfaction
I just don’t know
Where to go
But I can’t keep spending my days
Digging my own grave

Salvation’s coming
Coming my way
Walls are crumbling
And I won’t spend another day
Digging my own grave

11. No More Fears

I live in a world of obscurity
Where darkness and emptiness reign
I’m sick of doubt and uncertainty
My cross is too heavy to bear

Chorus:
No more fears, No more tears X2
I need to step out of the shadow
If I’m to answer the call of my soul

Struggling every day with the fear of loss
My life consumed by a nuclear holocaust
I know fear is a beast that won’t be tamed
Unless I let go of the reins

( Chorus )

I’m trying to be the best man I can be
Tired of drifting endlessly
I don’t know what life has in store for me
But I can’t keep running away from my dreams

Chorus 2:
No more fears, No more tears X2
I know things will be better tomorrow
If I let go of the things I can’t control

12. Shooting Star

Verse 1:
Love can happen at first sight
Last a lifetime or only for a night
Love lives and dies
In the blink of an eye
Love makes you smile
Love makes you cry
Blessed is the time of my life when you and I
Share a piece of the sky

Chorus:
Like a shooting star
You light up my heart
Like a flying spark
You set fire to my mind
Like a shooting star
You light up the dark
Like a flying spark
You make me burn with desire and feel alive

Once, the world belonged to us
But now, our dreams are covered in dust
From doubts to trust
And through struggles and fuss
I need to adjust
Gotta bear my cross
Blessed is the time of my life when our hearts
Share the same pulse

( Chorus )

If I lose my way
In the darkest night
Please don’t fade away
Without saying goodbye

( Verse 1 & Chorus )

My shooting star
Oh, my shooting star
You set fire to my mind
My shooting star
Oh, my shooting star
You make me burn with desire and feel alive

13. Before the Dawn

I feel so distant, yet so close
Almost like a ghost
I see you crying over my body
I scream like a madman, but you can’t hear me

Chorus:
Please hear my words
Before the dawn
I wanna whisper to your heart
My love for you one last time

All my dreams went up in smoke
The moment you were gone
And now, the shadow that crossed my heart
Won’t leave me alone

I just can’t understand
Why it feels like our love was in vain
Now, my soul is bleeding, and my spirit crying
And nothing can ease the pain

( Chorus )

We were so good together
We thought it would last forever
Now that we are worlds apart
How I wish I could hold on to your heart

I still can feel your arms around me
Your sweet kisses on my cheeks
But the pain inside my soul
Can only heal if I let you go

When I heard you call my name
I couldn’t hold back my tears
When I heard you call my name
I knew your love would always find me

( Chorus )

Louis Doyon's Biography

Elysium is a musical project by Canadian songwriter, singer, and musician Louis Doyon. Seeing the light in 2019, Elysium's music is described as hard rock, classic rock, blues rock, alternative rock sometimes combined with genres such as funk, punk rock and progressive rock. The first Elysium album merges all the musical styles that have influenced Louis Doyon throughout his life that forged his deep passion for music.

Each Elysium songs are directly or indirectly related to Louis Doyon’s life. It’s a blend of experiences, rage, love, pain, dreams, and sciences. Elysium’s music is characterized using traditional instruments in rock music (guitars, bass guitar, drums, analogue synthesizers, electric organs) mixed with blues and funk instruments (harmonica, brass). Doyon writes the music and the lyrics ideas, sings, and plays bass guitars on all songs the Elysium album, alongside many guest musicians.

Elysium is currently building its lineup to perform live in the coming months and is working on new songs.

The Elysium project is…
Elysium is a world where music knows no border. It is a magical musical place. A place to restore and purify the soul. It's also a place of healing, a place where you can be yourself, because music has no judgment. Elysium means any place, state of happiness or delight that music can give us.

Music is a unifying element, and the goal of Elysium's music is to touch people's hearts and to create honest and authentic music.
